TouchStar’s Rugged Mobile Computing division are proud to announce a strong end to 2019 having recently secured a number of new customers.  

Although the market for mobile computing hardware remains challenging and highly competitive, TouchStar have maintained a solid finish, adding several well-respected companies to their customer portfolio. The rollout of TouchStar rugged mobile technology is set to span across several specialist industry sectors including third party logistics, cold storage and chemical manufacture including:  

Rick Bestwick  

A leading provider of temperature-controlled services, Rick Bestwick selected TouchStar’s TS8000 handheld and TS7000 truck mounted mobile computers. The hardware upgrade, which is set to support the operations across 1.5 million square feet of warehouse space, will be implemented across the full spectrum of warehouse activities to support stock traceability, visibility and control.   

Reed Boardall  

Another great name within the temperature-controlled industry, Reed Boardall has grown to become the UK’s largest single site cold storage facility. TouchStar’s TS7000 series truck mounted device was selected specifically to manage data capture across the pallet pick and put away operation. With large keys for gloved hand operations, bright defroster screens to reduce condensation and IP65 rated designs, the TS7000 was the ideal solution for Reed’s cold storage environment.    

Apollo Chemicals  

Apollo is the UK’s largest privately-owned liquid adhesive, sealant, coating & primer manufacturer. TouchStar’s TS8200 handheld and TS3200 truck mounted devices were selected to fulfil multiple data capture operations within Apollo’s warehouse facilities. Based on the next generation in operating systems, Android, both devices provide high speed processing technology and the rugged credentials to ensure a prolonged life within Apollo’s robust environment. Suitable for use in potentially explosive environments, a specialist ATEX version of the TS3200 was also selected to support data capture within the hazardous areas of the operation.  

Knights of Old

Leading logistics providers Knights of Old selected TouchStar’s TS8000 to support their strategically placed ambient warehouse operations. The ability to react rapidly and responsively to the needs of their customers lead them to upgrade to TouchStar’s in-house manufactured and locally supported devices. Well received throughout the testing phase, the TS8000 integrates feature rich functionality into a well-balanced and lightweight design, perfect for Knight of Old’s scan intensive operation.  

Conway Bailey  

Haulage company Conway Bailey provide both general and temperature-controlled services that span from local deliveries through to regional, national and European destinations. Conway Bailey selected TouchStar’s in house manufactured TS8000 handheld to fulfil the data capture operations within their temperature-controlled storage operation. Set to integrate with their new Empirica WMS system by Chess Logistics Technology, the TS8000 provides industry leading ruggedness and reliability to support seamless operation within Conway Bailey’s southern based operation.  

Avon Freight  

In operation for over 40 year’s Avon Freight Group deliver cost-effective and reliable freight, distribution and warehousing services. The growth in operations was a key driver for Avon Freight Group to upgrade their existing warehouse operations with TouchStar’s TS8000 rugged handheld selected as Avon Freight Group’s preferred hardware for the investment. The new devices will be utilised across the full spectrum of warehouse processes with the objective of streamlining current operations.

TouchStar’s TS8000 handheld has been selected as part of a hardware upgrade which is set to support real time data capture in the operation. The advanced scanning capability of the TS8000 will help identify each unique product within the warehouse, providing accurate stock information and visibility that will help support an efficient and flexible operation.
