Once the client has a clear vision of business need and a commitment to the scale and timing of the mobile computing project, TouchStar will assign personnel to the project management of the initial phases of implementation. A Project Manager will be assigned to the client with the purpose of verifying the initial recommendation and undertaking the appropriate level of testing to support this process. Developing a technical infrastructure to support the deployment of mobile computing devices can be highly complex. For example, if the client is seeking a wireless solution then there are issues of interoperability, coexistence of hardware and of wired and wireless networks, security, bandwith, radio coverage etc. Even for more simplistic non-wireless hardware applications there may still be complex issues pertaining e.g. how to secure seamless data flow between various business packages.

Although the above represent the very early stages of the implementation of your mobile computing project, we’re convinced that the thoroughness with which we approach ALL facets of a project will be self-evident. By this stage, most potential clients are convinced enough to entrust their project to TouchStar and to move rapidly to the commissioning and installation stage. These stages are carried out with the same meticulous professionalism and attention to detail. Network hardware and any related integration software is installed and integrated in line with the survey and original specification / design documents. The mobile units and infrastructure are then configured to enable optimum communication with the host system. If the mobile computer is to be mounted onto a vehicle or trolley, we can also handle the physical installation of the terminals, which contrasts to the approach taken by many suppliers ( who deliver their terminals in boxes and then expect you, the customer, to fit the devices ).

We are dedicated to providing you with the training that will enable you to gain the maximum advantage from your TouchStar equipment. We provide high quality real-world courses on dedicated hardware that provide the attendee with the skills they need to get the job done. Training is ordinarily conducted at your facility. This on-site training option may be more attractive to you if you have several employees to be trained at once. It provides the added advantage of training your people in their own working environment on the actual systems they will be operating.
