The Health and Safety (Offences) Act came into force in January 2009. Under the new ACT, employees, managers and company directors who fail to demonstrate compliance with health and safety regulations could now be subject to large fines and, in severe cases, a jail sentence of up to two years.

Key advantages of vehicle telematics systems include an ability to remotely monitor hours worked, time driven without breaks, speeding, harsh breaking and acceleration - data which can be utilised to enhance driver safety.

A lone worker alarm can be linked to the vehicles on-board computer (OBC). A range of wireless panic buttons and man down units can be linked to in-cab strobe and sirens with automatic alerts to the central office via the OBC.
